德州经济开发区是经山东省人民政府批准设立的省级经济开发区，截止目前，入区项目达615家，总投资426.6亿元。经过10年的建设和发展，开发区基础设施完善、服务功能齐全、投资环境优秀、生活环境优美，已成为德州市对外开放的重要窗口、招商引资的重要基地和经济发展的重要增长点。

Dezhou Economic Development Zone is a provincial level economic development zone approved by the People's Government of Shandong Province. At present, 615 firms have settled in the zone with a total investment of 42.66 billion yuan. Through construction and development for 10 years, the development zone is complete in infrastructures and service functions, excellent in investment environment and graceful in living environment, and became an important window of Dezhou City for opening to the outside world, a key base of investments attraction and an important growth point of economic development.

Dezhou is located in northwest Shandong, with Jinan to the south across the Yellow River, Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei to the north, Shanxi coal base to the west and Shengli Oil Field to the east, known as a communications pivot in North and East China since ancient times. The development zone is located in east part of Dezhou urban area. Beijing-Shanghai Railway and De-Shi Railway meet here. Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway under construction runs across, with a station set in the Development Zone, the first one as it enters into Shandong; Running across the zone are Beijing-Shanghai expressway, De-Shi expressway, and Qing-Tai, De-Yan and De-Bin expressways that are under construction.
