威海经济技术开发区

    威海经济技术开发区于1992年10经国务院批准成立，辖区面积194平方公里，总人口13.3万人。2000年4月，经国务院批准，在区内设立了出口工区，总规划面积2.72平方公里。2007年，全区实现生产总值118亿元，实现工业总产值233亿元，完成规模以上固定资产投资68亿元，完成社会消费品零售总额32亿元，实现财政总收入16亿元，地方财政收入6.9亿元。区内现有外资企业842个，内资企业1710个，从业人员8.9万人。

    开发区区位优势明显，自然条件优越，人力资源丰富，通过ISO14001环境管理体系认证，高标准建设了发电厂、污水处理厂等设施，城市天然气工程建成投产。区内能源充足、保障有力，基础设施配套完善。

    目前全区形成了以船舶及配件制造业、汽车及零部件制造业、电子信息加工业、通用与专用设备制造业、食品及药品加工业、电力热力产业等主导产业。

    全区围绕船舶及配件制造业进行招商，目前区内聚集了山东新船重工有限公司、威海三进船业有限公司、威海东海船舶修造有限公司、威海新泰源船业有限公司等4家船舶修造企业和威海济钢启跃船材有限公司、伊萨焊接器材（威海）有限公司、威海釜一防火板材有限公司、威海第一工程船业有限公司等30家船舶配件企业，具有发展船舶工业的良好基础，预计到2012年，全区年造船能力达到350万载重吨，船舶工业实现销售收入350亿元。

    Weihai Economic and Technical Development Zone

    Approved by the State Council in October 1992, Weihai Economic and Technical Development Zone covers an area of 194 sq km and has a total population of 133,000. In April 2000, as approved by the State Council, an export industrial area was set up in the Zone with a planned area of 2.72 sq km. In 2007, the Zone realized a GDP of 11.8 billion yuan, a gross industrial output of 23.3 billion yuan, a fixed asset investment to large industrial enterprises of 6.8 billion yuan, a total volume of retail sales of social consumables of 3.2 billion yuan, a total fiscal revenue of 1.6 billion yuan and a local fiscal revenue of 690 million yuan. Currently in the Zone, there are 842 foreign-funded enterprises, 1,710 domestically funded enterprises and 89,000 employees.

    With remarkable geographic advantages, superior natural conditions and abundant human resources, the development zone passed ISO14001 environmental management system certification, and has been provided with high standard power plant, sewage treatment plant and urban natural gas facilities. There are abundant energy source, powerful guarantee and complete infrastructures.

    At present, the dominant industries of the zone include ship-building and spare parts manufacturing, automobile and parts manufacturing, electronic information processing, general and special equipment manufacturing, food and medicine processing, power supply and heat supply.

    Investments are invited to ship-building and parts manufacturing industry. Presently in the Zone, there are 4 ship building and repairing enterprises of Shandong New Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co. Ltd, Weihai Sanjin Ship Industry Co. Ltd., Weihai Donghai Shipyard Co. Ltd. and Weihai Xintaiyuan Shipyard Co. Ltd., together with 30 ship parts producers, representing a good foundation for development of ship-building industry. It is expected that, by 2012, the Zone will have an annual ship-building capability of 3.5 million DWT and a sales revenue of 35 billion yuan.
